Pataskala, OH is a great city to call home. The residents are friendly, there are over half a dozen community parks to enjoy, and there are many great fishing spots within driving distance of the city. Today, we're looking at our favorite places in the area to catch a variety of fish. 1. Three Creeks Metro Park One of the greatest places to fish in the Pataskala area is Three Creeks Metro Park, conveniently located at 3860 Bixby Rd. There are several bodies of water that you can fish from in this park, including the Big Walnut, Alum, and Blacklick creeks. You can also fish from Turtle Pond and Heron Pond. Heron Pond is ideal for shore anglers looking for catfish, bluegill, and largemouth bass. The creeks are ideal for fishers who want to wade into the water to get a bite. If you're looking for rock bass, saugeye, sunfish, or smallmouth bass, we recommend scouting out deep pools in Big Walnut Creek or Alum Creek. more 2. Buckeye Lake State Park We also recommend visiting one of the oldest state parks in Ohio, Buckeye Lake State Park at 2871 Liebs Island Road. The 3,100-acre Buckeye Lake is home to bullhead catfish, channel catfish, and largemouth bass. Perch, crappie, and bluegill fish can also be found in abundance in this massive lake.  You can also of boating on Buckeye Lake. There are several boat ramps on this lake, and there is no horsepower limit. 3. Scioto Audubon Metro Park Finally, we strongly recommend visiting Scioto Audubon Metro Park at 400 W Whittier St. if you want a beautiful, relaxing day fishing near Pataskala. You can fish on the serene Scioto River from the elevated fishing dock at this park. Alternatively, you can launch a motorized boat off of the boat ramp and fish from the middle of the river. Note that there is a lot more to do at Scioto Audubon Metro Park than fishing and boating. Canoeing and kayaking are other popular outdoor activities that are often enjoyed in this state park. Scioto Audubon Metro Park is also a great place to keep your pets from getting cabin fever. Domesticated dogs and cats are allowed in the picnic areas, and there is a dog park and 12.5 miles of pet-friendly trails. There are ample opportunities to fish in the Pataskala area, but you need a car you can count on to get to them. If you are concerned about the state of disrepair your current car is in, we recommend getting into a 2024 Ford Edge. To take one for a test drive, visit us today at Coughlin Ford of Pataskala.
