Engine Options

Drivers can choose between two different EcoBoost engines, a hybrid, or a plug-in hybrid for 2023. The standard model comes with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine with auto start-stop technology. There’s also a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine with direct injection.

Another option for 2023 is to go with a hybrid 2.5-liter engine with regenerative braking technology to charge the battery. Your final option is a plug-in hybrid with a 2.5-liter I-4 engine. This can be charged using a standard 120V outlet.

Seating

The Escape seats up to five people. While adults hate sitting in the back in many cars, you can do so in the Escape thanks to the sliding second-row seats. These seats slide back to provide an additional 5.9 inches of legroom. The second row also has a 60/40 split so they’re easy to fold and create additional cargo space if needed.

Cargo Space

There’s an option to add a power liftgate, which makes accessing the cargo area even easier. You can fit plenty of groceries or luggage in the back. The compact SUV has 65.4 cubic feet of volume. If you’re going on a long trip you can fit eight carry-on suitcases in the cargo area.

Available Panoramic Vista Roof

To make the inside feel even larger, consider adding the optional vista roof to your Escape. This roof will tilt and slide all the way back with the press of a button. The sunroof certainly makes long road trips more fun.

Safety Assist Features

Advanced driver-assist features come standard on the 2023 Escape. These features include blind-spot monitoring and a rear-cross traffic alert as well as a lane-keeping assist. There is also a lane departure warning. You’ll also have the assistance of a forward collision warning and an automated emergency braking system.

Available Park Assist

You can park in crowded places with a lot more confidence using the Active Park Assist 2.0 feature in your 2023 Escape. This software will show you how to navigate into tight spaces or out of them.

Infotainment

There are Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto capabilities in the 2023 Escape. There’s also an available option for Alexa to be built-in. Ford has added their Sync 4 technology. This software has gotten a lot better now that it can update itself over the air.

There is an 8.0-inch touchscreen as standard in the entry-level model and a 13-2-inch touchscreen is available. There’s also an available 10-speaker sound system upgrade. This is from Bang & Olufsen and includes a subwoofer.
