If you have a craving for authentic Mexican cuisine, you’re in a good place. The city may be small, but Pataskala, OH, boasts several Mexican restaurants that you’ll want to visit. To help get you started, we’ve written down a few of our go-to choices.

1. Puerto Vallarta

Start with a housemade frozen or on-the-rocks margarita and munch on the complimentary chips and salsa while you browse the extensive menu. For your meal, we recommend the steak fajitas, the burrito Jalisco, the quesadilla tapatia, the cheese enchiladas, the fish tacos, the wet burrito, the mini chimichangas, or the veggie fajitas. Puerto Vallarta is located at 100 Emswiler Way, and they are open every day.

Please drink responsibly and in moderation, and do not drink and drive. Alcohol is intended for adults of legal drinking age.

2. El Parral

This venue is a favorite among the locals here in town. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the prices won’t break the bank. Start with the chips and cheese dip or a cup of homemade chicken soup. Then try the monster steak burrito, the El Guadalajara, the Nachos Locos, the Texanas fajitas, the Hawaiian quesadilla, the enchiladas rancheras, or the El Michoacano. We also suggest the combination platters, which are served with rice and beans.

Finish off your meal with the flan, churros, cheesecake chimichanga, or fried ice cream. You can find El Parral at 113 Lois. Ln. Stop by any day of the week.

3. Tic Tac Taco

Tic Tac Taco specializes in made-to-order, fresh, authentic food. You’ll find all of your favorites, including burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, bowls, salads, and more. Our favorite, though, is the “Make Your Move” option, which means you create your own meal. Pick one item, like a burrito, a taco, or a bowl, add rice and beans if you want, and then pick your protein, toppings, and salsas.

Protein choices include grilled chicken, grilled steak, barbacoa, carnitas, chorizo, and vegetables. Salsas include pineapple, pico de Gallo, corn, and verde. We also love their creamy lime cilantro sauce. If you are a fan of spice, you’ll definitely want to try the scorpion sauce. Also, be sure to ask for a side of their housemade guacamole to compliment your meal. Visit 110 W. Broad St. seven days a week between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.
