A photo of the front of Rusty's Wharf in Ohio.Pataskala, OH is a great town for families. There are so many things to see and do in the area that will keep you and the little ones entertained for a day out, but when it comes to eating out, not every restaurant is accommodating for children. So, if you’re out in town with the kids this weekend and you’re looking for somewhere to eat that will suit the whole family, we’ve compiled this list of some of our favorite family restaurants in the area.

Knucklehead’s Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop

Everyone knows that kids love ice cream, which is what makes Knucklehead’s Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop such a great option if you have young children with you. This joint serves ice cream and shakes in a variety of flavors, including some specialty shakes such as hot fudge and butterscotch, and fresh fruit shakes and smoothies are also available if you want your kids to eat healthily.

Of course, it’s not all about the sweet stuff here, as Knucklehead’s also serves amazing burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. The atmosphere is very friendly so the place is great for dining in, but all the food is also available for take-out, and with the ActiveX stain-resistant back seats on the new Ford Explorer XLT, you don’t need to worry about your kids ruining your seats as their ice cream melts.

Nutcracker Family Restaurant

Whether you’re looking for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Nutcracker Family Restaurant is always worth a visit. The breakfast menu is massive and contains everything from pancakes and french toast to a huge 7oz sirloin steak with eggs and potatoes. For lunch, you can choose from a selection of delicious sandwiches that are all served on freshly baked bread.

If you’re coming with younger children then don’t worry, as Nutcracker Family Restaurant has an excellent children’s menu covering all three meals of the day, with options including biscuits and gravy, grilled cheese sandwiches, and spaghetti with tomato sauce.

Rusty’s Wharf

If your kids love fish then Rusty’s Wharf is the place to take them. The spot serves only fresh, never-frozen fish, and the chefs rustle up amazing American and international classics such as clam chowder, fish and chips, and big baskets of fried shrimp. Adults can go for the “Big ‘Ole Buckets,” while children can choose from the “Little ‘Ole Buckets” menu, which contains many of the same items but in a smaller portion.

There are just some of our favorite places to eat out with the family in Pataskala; now the only difficult part is working out which one to go for. Do you go for fresh fish and chips at Rusty’s Wharf, or would you rather go for more basic hamburgers and spaghetti at Nutcracker? Whichever you choose, your family is sure to have a great day out. Drop by and visit us at Coughlin Ford of Pataskala afterward to let us know how it went and get that essential repair or service.
