We’ve tested the local coffee shops in Pataskala, OH, and after numerous cups of coffee, this is a list of our favorites.
Ragamuffins Coffee
Ragamuffins recently celebrated their 10th anniversary in Alexandria, OH. Their space has a delightful family-friendly feel, and they offer some of the finest coffee in Licking County. It’s the kind of place where you’ll meet a stranger at the counter and leave having made a good friend. Customers come here to relax and enjoy exceptional coffee. Connoisseurs will appreciate the wide selection of available coffees, and the harried shopper will love the chance to sip a fresh cappuccino and rest.
For a basic drink, cappuccinos, lattes, espressos, regular coffee are readily available. They make an excellent mocha and also serve specialty almond joy, buckeye, turtle, and caramel macchiatos. There’s a range of milk substitutes available, so if you need to avoid dairy you can still enjoy a good coffee. Pour-over and cold brew coffees are also an important part of the menu.
5 Bean Cafe
Fourteen years ago, 5 Bean opened at 2087 A State Route 256, Reynoldsburg. They only serve the best CrimsonCup coffee proudly made in Columbus, OH. The coffee beans are ordered from the best coffee growers. The beans are carefully and lovingly roasted, ground, and prepared to provide you with that awesome coffee taste you’ve been craving. With eight hot, five frozen, and seven over-ice varieties of coffee, you’re guaranteed to find your perfect choice.
To add an extra zest to your coffee, they have over fifty carefully-blended syrups, and sixteen of these are sugar-free. If you prefer a non-coffee choice, they have an exciting selection of Artisan teas available, and they make a deliciously thick hot chocolate drink too. 5 Bean is open daily, so you never have to worry about missing out on your coffee hit.
River Road Coffeehouse
River Road in Granville has one of the nicest coffee drinking venues we’ve seen. Its housed in a beautifully-restored multi-room Victorian house. The calm, restrained decor provides a perfect atmosphere to enjoy a cup of great coffee. This coffeehouse is nearly twenty years old, and it has become an oasis to relax and savor the smell and taste of expertly-blended coffee.
For an early morning start to the day, we choose their redeye with drip coffee and espresso. It gives you that kickstart to a productive day. To relax, our personal choice is the delicious caramel latte, with espresso, steamed milk, light milk froth, and a generous coating of caramel syrup.
