An image of a fully, but organized, packed 2022 Ford Bronco Sport trunk. The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport is a compact crossover SUV released under the Bronco nameplate. It offers the same retro and off-road styling of the main Bronco except that it is smaller. This rugged little SUV is designed for the thrill seeker and adventurer who wants a rugged utility vehicle for the great outdoors.

Basics About the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport

The first edition of the Bronco Sport was released in 2021. Originally there were five different trims available. One of the trims was a limited edition offering 2,000 units for sale. Plenty of features are standard in all trims including G.O.A.T. mode (go over any terrain), flood lights in the tailgate, and a flip down rear glass.

New/Unique Features

Since the Bronco Sport only debuted in 2021, little changed in the latest edition. Sirius XM was deleted from base model for 2022. Standard features are still plentiful for the base model with 4×4 capability, a safari-style roof, and G.O.A.T. mode.

Available Engines

Two engine choices are available with the sport model. They are the 1.5-liter EcoBoost offering 181 horsepower or the 2.0-liter EcoBoost offering 250 horsepower. Regardless of which engine a driver chooses, both come with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a 4×4 system.

Exterior Design

The design of the sport model pays tribute to its original heritage with its boxy shape. Unlike its larger counterpart, the full-size Bronco, it only comes in a 4-door model. There is an option for a removable roof and includes removable doors. Although the base model doesn’t have a sunroof, it is a feature drivers can enjoy in the other trim levels.

Interior Features

The interior of the Bronco Sport is durable and rugged for easy cleaning. It comfortably seats four adults and is easily accessible because of the 4-door arrangement. It offers the Cargo Management System for easy storage and has plenty of interior space whether carrying passengers or cargo. Travel essentials include a bottle opener in the liftgate and built-in power outlets.

Technology and Safety

The SYNC-3 8-inch infotainment system is standard in all models of the Bronco Sport. Standard features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker sound system. An optional navigation system is available. Options like a Bang & Olufsen sound system and an available wireless charging pad means drivers may enjoy modern conveniences in the great outdoors.

Ford deploys its proprietary safety system, Ford Co-Pilot360, as standard equipment in all trims of the sport model. This advanced technology offers features like Dynamic Brake Support, Forward Collision Warning, and a Blind Spot Information System.

The Bronco Sport is a more rugged and utilitarian version of the Bronco and perfect for the off-road adventures drivers who love the outdoors crave. To start your next outdoor adventure and test drive the latest Bronco Sport, visit Coughlin Ford of Pataskala.
